my kid’s sewing class started up again last week…
i wanted a project that would ease them back
something relatively simple
but where they could also learn a new skill.
my sister made her daughter a smocked dress
it was adorable.
we roughly followed the same.
and they came together very easily…
the girls are thrilled
and thought the elastic thread smocking was way-cool.
here is my niece in her top made by mama
up next… halloween costumes!
there is something about the crisp evening air
that has me craving roast chicken…
taking the fall feast from farmers market to table
my favorite roast chicken?
the blog world is bursting with halloween cheer…
reid and i are lucky enough
to be able to spend our summers (working) on cape cod
we pack in tons of family time
and nellie loves her low-tide beach runs.
when summer came this year
it was slightly bittersweet
because we had just settled
into our first home.
we found the world’s best renters
and headed to the beach.
we’re back in the school-year-swing
and it feels sweeter than ever
to be back in little rhody.
we arrived back
(a week or so now)
to this message
from our super sweet neighbors:
a few more shots i snapped
while drinking my morning cup of tea…
of this beauty
just picked up from the upholsterer.
(it is IN.SANE. in person)
oh, just wait….
(i know i owe you before and afters. and a home tour. coming this fall… i promise!)
and headed soon to the cape.
now that it is officially fall
the farm stands overflowing with mums and pumpkins
and stores filled with orange and black
seem a little more appropriate
(i am still coming to terms with the season change…)
halloween is just around the corner
(the girls in my sewing class will start creating their costumes next week!)
time to get going!
today is the last day of summer 2010.
i was looking through my photos this morning
and found a few favorites
that i hadn’t already posted
the best parts?
being on cape
morning coffee with dad
picked by hand berries
afternoons on the back patio
watching friends marry
family getting together
helping tay learn to swim and dive and ride a bike
sewing with meggin
post-labor day beach walks
here in new england
fall is definitely in the air
with crisp, cool mornings…
fall in new york.
the one time of year that really makes me miss living in the city.
(ohhh, those michael kors shows…)
everyone walking the streets
seems to step it up a notch…
love the denim on denim here (on jenna lyons?) dressed up with the coral lips and louboutin’s
to. die. for.
the behind-the-scenes hotness
